Here's a great new book to put in the stocking of someone you love this holiday season. I spent a summer along side the wonderful writer Susan Heeger photographing the gardens of Jimmy Williams. The resulting book is being released December 1st (you can order it already on Amazon.com...). Amazon put the book in their "Best Books of 2010 Editors' Picks" The project was a real change of pace from my Architecture and Interior design work, and a real pleasure as well. Hope you enjoy the reading (and the pictures too). Also check out the site for the book... www.fromseedtoskillet.com

Summer camp
My six year old daughter and I spent 3 days at a YMCA camp on Catalina Island. Three days without cell phone service... total bliss for me (I don't think she noticed).

Wanna buy Larry Hagman's house?
You don't see views like this very often. Off to the right side of Ojai, perched on a mountain top, with views of the Pacific. I could have spent a lot more time here. It was a real pleasure to meet Mr. Hagman too.

The Third and Seventh
I stumbled on this video on Vimeo which is entirely computer generated (as in not made with a camera). The texturing, lighting, and very real construction of space is remarkable.

Alpa Max, my funny camera of choice
Clients often comment on my camera being unusual. I've learned not to start a monologue about it's features and design but instead just say "Yes, it is".
Here is Alpa's Web Site if you want to see more.
